Introduction

Built Environment provides a range of strategic and operational services in maintaining, supporting and managing the Council's estate through its full complement of professional and operational teams.  As budget holders of the corporate estate, it enables us to strategically plan and make the most effective use of Council resources to ensure that Council buildings are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.   

This includes but is not limited to:

1. Planned & reactive maintenance
2. Condition and compliance
3. Energy management
4. Construction and refurbishment
5. Professional services for construction work
6. Industrial Services Group, a wholly owned social enterprise, manufacturing, supplying and installing windows, doors, fire check doors and low rise curtain walling, and the design, manufacture and installation of festival lights (within and outside the Council)

For the Council, and customers who have a Service Level Agreement with us, we are the Service that assists in the event of any major incidents/disaster.  We have the necessary experience, knowledge, staff and contacts to help, advise and support customers in order to get services back up and running again.
